    It seems that the C++ changes are not strictly necessary. I have only access to BP, so to get this to work I'm just creating a render target dynamically for each portal with a size based on viewport. This probably has some side effects (e.g. when switching resolutions mid game)

    Because UE5 no longer uses action mappings and instead uses the new mapping context tool, some people may find doing this complicated. I urge everyone to go learn the new mapping context tool for interactions (like using TAB/I for inventory)

    Hey Reid, this is an amazing tutorial thanks so much for making this. I managed to up make this system entirely along with a chest/interact system, but now im having some difficulty as I want to add it to multiplayer (Hosted servers, not dedicated). Do you have any recommendations with how to approach this?

      In the Create Line function, just after the Normalize node. ==> Remember to use the Cross node and not Multiply (this is what caused the problem on my side).

    at 26:50 when you are multiplying columns by tile size- I dont have the option to do 'float*'. I'm new and not sure if it's because i'm on 5.4.2 and you're on an older version but i've restarted my project several times and made it to this point twice now. my blueprints and everything look just like yours so i'm not really sure what im doing wrong. Any suggestions?

    Amazing tutorial, Everything works great for me but i have an issue where I have to manually refresh the entire inventory whenever I drag and drop an item because it doesn't appear unless I do, this causes the whole inventory to flicker for a sec every time i move something and I am not a fan, can you think of something I may have missed?

    For some reason, I can directly bitmask the scene textures without having to divide. Also the step node is essentially a greater than or equal node.

    I love this stuff! Very cool! Ive recorded some similar systems using instanced SMs and recorded to my YT channel. Very cool! This is not the Grid system I am looking for, but maybe I can compromise lol. Maybe ill do a BP based grid system for building placement.. and have this grid spawner as a child actor of each building. Then expose size values as instance editable hrmm.

    Hello. My problem was that after I load my level, it becomes visible even before Begin Play fires and hides it with a black widget. It wasn't looking the best... I tried your tutorial, but one of my levels has world composition enabled, and it somehow loads itself automatically when I load the "Persistent Level". There probably was much better way to do this, but I felt it wasn't important from gameplay perspective, so my solution was the most dirty thing I ever done in Unreal... I just placed an "unlit" black cube around the initial camera location in that level, and I remove it on begin play. When level loads and it lags for a few seconds, only black cube is visible, and when it starts working (and begin play fires removing the cube) I have a widget loaded with a nice "Fade out" animation. Forgive me God for I have sinned...

    For future peps, 21:21 in unreal engine 5 select float is flipped with pins compared to ue4, so min goes to A and max goes to B

    I am really impressed, this tutorial is far better than many on YT. The code is clean and well organized. Functions and variables are private by default in C++ and you keep this good practise in blueprints. After several games and applications created in Unity, it was time to create my first game in Unreal Engine. Your hard work helps me a lot. Thank you very much!

    Shift+Left Click is a much faster way to add keys to a timeline. Great tutorial! Have a problem where once I start sliding the moment I run out of momentum, my slide then adds the force again. I have no idea how to fix this, but it only happens when I still hold sprint whilst sliding, does anyone know a fix?

    when testing the crouch out my end crouch wouldn't work and my character wouldnt come back up, I didn't encounter the problem until the testing phase at the 10:00 mark so i was a little lost on where the problem was. I checked the crouch time line and my initial time was a 0 and the value was .25 instead of 1. This might be causing some other people issues I hope this helps

      I also had issue where I was not able to stand, I don't know if I missed something (very new to UE5) but I changed the Camera Z offset "value" to 65.. and all worked

    Thank you so much for making this, it was incredibly helpful and I was able to use it as a foundation for a grid system. It's become about 2.5 billion times faster and I don't even need 50,000 tiles so yippie I'm learning unreal so it helped with a lot of base knowledge as well in how blueprints work.

    Now in the lamp code add a node to destroyactor, open the list of quests and return to the editor. You will get a million errors) This guide is only suitable for triggers.

    As I think someone else mentioned, my QueryAllSaveInterfaces function is coming up with 0 actors from GetAllActorsWithInterface. I'm using UE5, and I read somewhere that it might not work because of that. Anyone have thoughts?

      Never mind! My problem was that it runs before my actor spawns, so it misses out on the query call. Have to come up with a workaround.
